![]() Don's extremely active in the forums and listens to people a lot and is very willing to help. One of the best thing about XYplorer is that all the features are stable and well thought out. * Quick searches using the address bar that goes directly to the file and highlight your search terms.Īnd there are many other features. *Customizable keyboard shortcuts and mouse shortcuts. *Quickly edit file Created, Modified, Access date and other attributes through the Property panel. I can just select them all and File > To Clipboard > Item Name(s) or simply use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+P. Rather useful since sometimes I want to send people a list of files in one of my folders. *Something that I use a lot is the tool that allows you to copy to the clipboard line by line of all the file names (or path and others depending on what you want) that are being selected. *Highly flexible rename tools that allows you to batch rename files the traditional way as well as allowing you to rename many files line by line using a text window if you like. (To be honest, I prefer using Voidtools "Everything" but XYplorer's search is still extremely good). *Highly customizable visual filters allowing only certain files and folders to be displayed depending on the your filter criteria. *Custom file copier that supports verification, pause and resume, and action upon file collisions. ![]() You can now do batch actions on those files. Tag all files in completely different directory with a green label and then do a search for green label. *Tagging and Color Labeling of all files. For example if you set it to open images using FastStone MaxView, it will automatically open up any images that you open through XYplorer through MaxView regardless of the system's file associations. Allows you to use it on a flash drive with other portable apps. *Customizable portable file associations. *Customizable color-coding for files based on attributes, date, age, types, size, or any combinations. OMG!! I can't believe it's offered for free today! I actually already own it but just to reiterate some of the features that it has. Incidentally, thank you Ashraf and Giovanni for your enlighting comments over the years. That being said, I will, without a doubt, enjoy using XYplorer on my USBs on which I don't have Directory Opus installed. In my humble opinion, it is the ultimate File Manager, although somewhat expensive, I must agree, but it suits my needs perfectly. Opus also has Tabs to navigate folders, and so, so much more. ![]() and others for all those free licenses!) and it's running very smoothly. I don't event use the start button anymore and erased most entries from there as they were slowing down the startup process (I have over 300 programs installed: thanks to GOTD!. ![]() I must say though that I have been using Directory Opus on my PC for years now, and customized it so that I use it as my main console to access everything on my computer. A monitor resolution of at least 800圆00 pixels recommended.I took this opportunity to install this excellent program on my USB keys. Lets you view tabs in a mini tree, calculate folder sizes easily, create and manage a favourites list ans so much more. Makes it easy to compare files, create new items, locate files, repeat a search, manage and apply new search templates, etc. Allows you to open an item with command line arguments and paste special (image into new PNG file, text into new file, etc.). Gives you the ability to move, copy, and/or backup files to a specific location. Enables you to use special functions when renaming files (batch rename, search and replace, keep particular characters, etc.). Lets you copy various items to the Clipboard (item base, compact file info, large icon, selected list row, etc.). An interface that’s familiar looking and similar to Explorer. It’s also incredibly lightweight so you won’t need to worry about it slowing down your system in any way. And since it’s a portable application not only can you use it on absolutely any computer you have access to, you won’t need to worry about it leaving any traces on a computer’s registry either. It allows you to copy various elements to the Clipboard, use special functions when renaming files, open an item with command line arguments and a whole lot more. ![]() It comes equipped with a tab based interface that’s reminiscent of Explorer, so the average user shouldn’t have any issues with navigation or use. Portable Xyplorer is an alternative to Windows Explorer that provides you with advanced file manipulation options.
